Dr. Mary Pearce received her DVM in 2020 from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine along with a Certificate in Shelter Medicine. She was born and raised in Connecticut and grew up with an entourage of pets. This environment instilled an early passion and respect for animals, and by the 4th grade Dr. Pearce had already made her decision to become a veterinarian. Dr. Pearce’s undergraduate studies at Gettysburg College brought her to the Pennsylvania/Maryland area where she obtained Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Music. While at Gettysburg, she continued exploring the world of veterinary medicine through work with local veterinarians and community cat spay/neuter programs. Her journey continued at the University of Florida, where she discovered her love for emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and shelter medicine. Upon graduating with her doctorate, she relocated back to this region to join the team at Mountain View Animal Emergency. In her free time, Dr. Pearce enjoys reading, baking, and playing many musical instruments including piano, ukulele, and oboe. She is the proud caregiver to two very spoiled kitties, Kiwi and Gnocchi, and a crested gecko named Toothless.
